Wow, this album was incredible! i got really lost in it and truly went to other worlds in my mind that hadn’t been explored. the ample and chilling use of Noise based synths and rhythms really reach out at you. I played this album while playing Minecraft. while iIwas under the earth in the game digging and exploring through dark caverns the music added a whole new depth to the game. a feeling of unknown.

Transmission’ is an excellent album of classic spacemusic with a modern touch by Portugal-based producer Bernard Lampreia, ranging from rhythmic sequences and synth solos to deep ethereal soundscapes and cinematic energy. If you’re a fan of the “Berlin-school” sound, don’t miss this album!

Review SPACE STATION – Transmission
Space Station is a music project initiated in 2006 by Portugese composer and producer Bernard Lampreia.
Transmission” is an accessible release filled with melodic sequencer-oriented electronics beside flavours of space and progressive instrumental music. Sonically, I hear lots of influences of German electronic music among others, but the overall sound spectrum of the recording remains a bit flat and uninspired beside the rather lame rhythms.
For an amateur release, the outcome is fairly well done although there’s still quite some work to be done on behalf of mastering and production.

Tangerine Dream haben mit Platten wie Atlantic Walls den Sprung in die Neuzeit versucht und sind meinen Ohren nach nicht gelandet. Es klingt ›nach MIDI‹, es fehlt dieses Unbändige, das sie ihrer Elektronik der Berliner Schule früher mitzugeben vermochten. Die Welt hat sich ja auch weiter gedreht: Noch leichtfüßig kam da der Synthpop, es drosch uns der Techno in all seinen Varianten, Drum’n'Bass zappelte vorüber, dann ging’s mit Ambient vollends ins Nirvana und Electro heiratete in die Popfamilie ein. Und nun kommt Space Station und bringt uns wieder zurück in die gute alte Zeit, allerdings ohne die Jahre zwischen dort und jetzt zu leugnen. Schon die Namen und Bilder sind so siebziger: Weltraum und Schweben. Musikalisch gesehen knüpft das Projekt von Bernard Lampreia auch eben dort an: Sequenzen, Flächen, Solo-Lines. Monoton und doch durch kleine Parameteränderungen am Leben erhalten. Mit gutem Gespür programmierte und mit Sorgfalt eingesetzte klassische Synthesizer-Klänge. Und dann kommt doch die Neuzeit: Mühelos kombiniert sich all das mit Beats, die in den Siebzigern womöglich noch nicht einmal erfunden waren. Und als wäre das an sich nicht genug, gibt es die ganze Platte Transmission auch noch kostenlos zum Download. Hier gibt es mit dem Track Sound of Light mal ein Versucherle:
